Baltic Family Days Autumn 2023

Wednesday 1 & Thursday 2 November 10am-6pm

Inspired by the exhibition, this two-day takeover will fill the building with creative sessions. Artists, performance, growing, cooking, eating and discussion will focus on the importance of nurturing not only the plants but the people around us.

Our Level 4 gallery hosts The Comfrey Project’s CommuniTEA, a tea party with a difference. 
Enjoy tea blending and tasting and shared stories accompanied by a music performance by Tugiy and his band, playing traditional Turkish songs of celebration.

Sculpture Making Workshop

This sculpture-making workshop takes inspiration from the exhibition, and explores the unique artistic style of collaging cardboard replicas of archaeological heritage objects.

Young Producers Event

Baltic’s Young Producers, a group of 14–17-year-olds, have been looking into themes of conflict and healing. This event, led by the Young Producers, will explore how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting young people’s mental health and consider how creative practice can support wellbeing.
