Explore the process of creating Nerikomi mugs with ceramicist Lucy Baxendale and make your very own set of two to take home.
Nerikomi is a decorative process established in Japan which involves stacking coloured clays and slicing through them to reveal patterns which can be applied as decoration. Coloured clays can also be used to create a marble effect in the clay.
What's included in the session?
During this workshop, Lucy will show you how different patterns can be created using these techniques. You will be guided through how to use these patterns to create two slab-built mugs.
Your creations will be taken away, glazed, and fired before being returned to Baltic for collection.
