Crossing Community Group provides opportunities for migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to integrate into the communities in which they live. Join them for a free, drop-in music performance in Michael Rakowitz' exhibition The Waiting Gardens of the North. Crossings use music, songwriting and team activities to build relationships within the group and with the wider community. They aim to improve relationships and understanding through shared positive experiences.

Crossings has grown and developed into a vital place of joy and support for many people living in the Newcastle Gateshead area. Crossings Ensemble Project is run by Crossings Community Group to create a welcoming space where asylum seekers, refugees and migrants come together with local and international musicians to create, learn and make meaningful connections.


Crossings Ensemble Project is funded by the People’s Health Trust and Community Foundation.
