Visitor Experience Manager

£23,079 per annum / 32.37 hours per week on a rota basis

We are recruiting for a Visitor Experience Manager to proactively support and manage a team of BALTIC Crew (Gallery Assistants), duty manage and hold responsibility for the operational running of our Visitor Experience team, our galleries and our visitor offer providing the very best in visitor welcome and experience.

Ideally the candidate will have some experience in working in the hospitality sector at any level, have management experience, be highly organised, and able to work and inspire a team in delivering our incredibly important welcome within a challenging and exciting contemporary arts sector.

The working pattern for this role focuses on providing duty management of the building on some weekdays (Tue-Fri), and every weekend.

A typical working day is 9.00-18.15 with occasional extra hours for events, projects and training.

  • Salary: £23,079 (£26,373 full time equivalent)

  • Working hours: 32.37hrs per week on a rota basis, with extra hours for events, projects and training compensated with time off in lieu – we offer a flexi time scheme.

Production Manager and Registrar

£35,340 per annum / 37 hours per week

BALTIC is looking for a Production Manager and Registrar to lead on production of BALTIC’s artistic programme in close collaboration with the curatorial team and to effectively manage the Technical team. The Production Manager and Registrar will oversee the delivery of temporary exhibitions and performances, planning their production and installation to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest possible standard.

We are looking for someone with significant experience of project managing complex exhibition projects and multi-faceted programmes involving multiple stakeholders in the arts or heritage sectors.

You will have high level experience of managing projects, a team and contractors to produce successful outcomes, taking responsibility for ensuring Health & Safety standards and a sustainable approach to work. You will manage the Technical team, contractors, liaise with artists, and internal colleagues, providing quality assurance for the delivery the programme. You will plan, contract and manage the transport and insurance for all exhibitions and performance projects and will oversee effective management of financial resources, including budget setting and monitoring in close dialogue with the Head of Curatorial and Public Practice.

Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both internally and externally and to build collaborative relationships across departments.

A highly organized and calm approach to work with the ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload and deliver agreed outputs to deadlines is essential. Clear thinking and solutions-focussed – able to manage competing demands and conflicting objectives with the ability to think creatively to come up with solutions to problems.

You will have an understanding of the principles of equity and inclusion, and experience of proactively applying and promoting these in practice at work.
