Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art is a major international gallery situated on the south bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead, England. Having welcomed over 10 million visitors since opening in July 2002, Baltic presents a distinctive and ambitious world-class visual art programme. Housed in a landmark ex-industrial building, Baltic houses 2,600 square metres of art space, making it one of Europe’s largest galleries. Baltic has presented the work of over 850 artists of 78 nationalities in over 300 exhibitions to date. Baltic is supported by Arts Council England, Gateshead Council and Northumbria University.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team at Baltic as Marketing and Communications Officer. We are seeking a passionate, organised and creative individual who will be able to contribute to the delivery of inspiring and thoughtful marketing campaigns, for experiences that will engage and delight our audiences and participants. 

Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager
Salary: £27,531 per annum 
Contract duration: Permanent
Working hours: Full time, 37 hours per week
Place of Work: Your usual place of work will be Baltic, South Shore Road, Gateshead
Annual leave: You will be entitled to 25 days paid annual leave plus standard bank holidays

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the team at Baltic as an Events Assistant. We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive individual who enjoys working with people and being part of memorable events.

Reports to: Events Assistant Manager
Salary: £12.60 per hour
Contract duration: 8 hours per week on a rota basis. Flexibility and availability to work nights and weekends is essential
Working hours: 8 hours per week on a rota basis
Place of Work: Your usual place of work will be Baltic, South Shore Road, Gateshead
Annual leave: You will be entitled to 25 days paid annual leave plus standard bank holidays

Working hours: 8 hours per week on a rota basis (overtime available)
