Part of Spring Into Action (3-19 April 2026), two weeks of free, nature-themed events and opportunities to be active, creative and celebrate the return of Baltic's beloved wild residents and Spring in all its glory.

A 6-mile ride east along the Gateshead riverside to the Kittiwake Tower Local Nature Reserve (South Shore Road, NE8 3AF), where you'll get up close to nesting kittiwakes before continuing along cycle paths in search of more seabirds and wildlife. Wildlife photographer and rewilding expert Cain Scrimgeour from Wild Intrigue joins us to help spot what's out there.

Open to anyone comfortable riding 6 miles in a supportive group.

Dress appropriately for the ride and bring spare layers for a range of weather conditions.
