The Late Shows 2025
Baltic's doors will be staying open later for an evening look at Ali Cherri: How I Am Monument and a special talk from Tom Houlton, Lecturer in Film and Literature.

Drop into Baltic Saturday for a late-night viewing of the recently opened Spring Season exhibitions. Hartlepool-born artists Laura Lancaster & Rachel Lancaster’s expansive show displays their evocative paintings side by side for the first time, whilst Ali Cherri: How I Am Monument (★★★★★ The Guardian) explores the tension between creation and destruction, permanence, and fragility in regions of conflict. Tom Houlton, a Lecturer in Film and Literature, University of York, will provide insights and a discussion on Cherri’s Toppled Monument series in the gallery space.
