Keeping you safe

We’ve made some changes to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit.

  • We are limiting capacity and staggering entry to BALTIC. Entry remains free, but we are asking visitors to pre-book a time slot in advance of their visit if they can. Book here

  • We’re asking all visitors to maintain social distancing measures when visiting.

  • Face coverings must be worn when visiting BALTIC. Face coverings are mandatory for all visitors except those with health and breathing issues, and children under the age of 11, in line with government guidelines.

  • We’ve implemented a designated route throughout the building. Please follow the markings on the floor, which will tell you where to go.

  • There will be hand sanitising points on every floor for your use.

  • Any children in your group must be supervised at all times.

  • There will be increased cleaning of BALTIC including toilet facilities, door handles, rails and other areas throughout the building.

  • Contactless/card payments only will be accepted for food/drink in Six Riverside. Contactless/card payments are preferred in BALTIC Shop.

  • BALTIC Crew, Six Riverside and Shop staff will be wearing face coverings or visors. There will be perspex screens in place at desks and till points.

  • Café and Front Room seating is spread out and offering pre-packed food.

  • Risk assessments have been carried out for both staff and visitor operations. These are regularly reviewed and take into account the latest guidance from the government and Public Health England.

  • We are participating in NHS Test and Trace system.

  • Quarantining books and resources in the Learning Lounge, Sensory Room and Library.

  • Please remember, stay at home if you’re feeling unwell, or have been in contact with someone who has coronavirus, and follow NHS coronavirus guidelines.

  • We have been awarded "We're good to go" status for our safety measures.
