I’m Not Everything I Want To Be (15)
(Ještě nejsem, kým chci být)

Wed 11 Nov | 18:30
Dir. Klára Tasovská Czechia/Slovakia/Austria 2024 / 1h 30m

Czech filmmaker Klára Tasovská’s debut feature is a formally inventive and deeply personal film. Made in close collaboration with Libuše Jarcovjáková and exclusively resorting to photographs and diary entries, I’m Not Everything I Want to Be explores the photographer’s search for identity and emotional journey, and results in a deeply affective and inspiring work. Dir. Agnès Varda / France / 2017 / 1h 34m

Recognising a like-minded soul in each other, Agnès Varda and JR set out together to explore the villages and small towns of rural France. Journeying in JR’s van-sized Polaroid camera, the two create a series of large-scale portraits of the people they meet, plastering the results across unconventional locations around the country – even finding time to put a shot of Varda’s toes on a passing train.
