BALTIC Archive chronicles BALTIC's history through physical items and digital documentation.
You can visit BALTIC's online archive BALTIC+ here.
BALTIC Archive contains thousands of items and a wealth of information related to BALTIC's entire history and every changing exhibition and events programme. From the pre-opening programme, the outsize newsletter publications which began in 1998 through to video documentation of our most recent artist talks.
Original floor plans, architectural information, press cuttings, 1000s of digital photographs, printed materials, interpretation guides for virtually every exhibition and audio recordings of critically engaged discussions on contemporary art all reside in BALTIC Archive and document its journey from flour mill to the present day gallery.
BALTIC Archive items are catalogued and available to search and browse on BALTIC+, which also lists all of the books in BALTIC Library. A vast amount of this archive material can be viewed digitally online and a fuller selection can be viewed on computers in BALTIC Library. You can visit BALTIC Library by appointment only Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Find out more and book your visit.
