Front Room

Front Room offers hospitality, care and kind conversation to all.

Front Room is a free place to pause and have a chat; about art, about our exhibitions, about life, about yourselves. Take a seat, eat your own packed lunch here or enjoy a free hot drink or squash (donations welcome). Our friendly Crew will be in Front Room to welcome you on your visit.

We offer pay-what-you-feel hot drinks/squash and snacks (donations welcome) plus traybakes and sweet/savoury pastries are available to buy from a local supplier.

Front Room is a space for congregation, creativity and celebration. Throughout the year, we are hosting a series of welcoming events to support national and regional campaigns and celebrations in the space.

We want you to join in, whether you want to rest, read or make a difference to our world. Drop in, chat to Baltic Crew and get involved.

Warm Spaces

Along with our neighbours Sage Gateshead, Baltic has joined Gateshead Council’s Warm Spaces Network to offer free warm spaces to the local community this Winter.

Offering free entry to the building, refreshments, and areas for work and play, the Warm Spaces initiative is made up of venues, libraries, town halls, sports clubs and community centres across Gateshead. Members of the local community will be greeted with a warm welcome and treated with dignity and respect in a non-judgemental environment.

The Warm Spaces Network is operating across Gateshead and eligible buildings are encouraged to join the directory.
