Take a journey with BALTIC Crew this Heritage Open Days 2019, as you walk from BALTIC 39 down to BALTIC Gateshead, learning about the local history along the way. This Heritage Walking Tour will start with an introduction to BALTIC 39’s Grade II listed building, exploring its history as Ward’s Printing Warehouse. You’ll discover facts about High Bridge and Grey Street, before heading down to the Quayside. Find out more about the seven bridges that cross the River Tyne, and delve into the regeneration of NewcastleGateshead’s Quayside. The tour will end at BALTIC Gateshead, and last approximately 45 minutes. BALTIC Crew are happy to answer questions throughout the tour, and there’ll be the opportunity to take photos along the way.
This tour is suitable for all ages, although please be aware this walk includes a steep downhill section. We’ll do our best to keep to time, but want to accommodate all speeds.
