BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art supports young people, schools and organisations with Gold Arts Award (RQF Level 3, 16 UCAS points) in the following ways:
UNIT 1
PART A: Extend your own arts practice
Young people: Attend ArtMix sessions regularly to develop your visual arts practice.
Schools and organisation: Book an Artist Studio Session to take place either at BALTIC or at your school or organisation. Encourage your students to come along to ArtMix sessions outside of school.
PART B: Development opportunities within the wider arts sector
Young people: Attend ArtMix sessions regularly. Enquire about work experience and volunteering opportunities.
Schools and organisation: Enquire about work experience and volunteering opportunities for your students and young people.
PART C: Research advanced practitioners and review arts events
Young people: Come along to free ArtMix sessions and find out more about the careers of artists and gallery staff.
Schools and organisations: Come along to free careers events at BALTIC or book a free Creative Careers tour. Book an artist led workshop to take place either at BALTIC or at your school or organisation so your students and young people can find out more about a career in the arts.
Young people, schools and organisations: Take advantage of BALTIC's free Exhibition Spotlight Tours which take place daily at 11.30, 13.30 and 15.30 or get in touch to organise a free tour for your group.
PART D: Form and communicate a view on an arts issue
Young people, schools and organisation: Use BALTIC+ to research ideas and access a huge range of digital resources. Book a free Library Session and use BALTIC Library to research a range of views on an arts issue.
UNIT 2
PART A-E: Arts leadership
Young people: Come along to regular ArtMix sessions and get support in planning your arts project.
