Meeting outside Baltic, we'll welcome you from our front doors, travelling over the Millennium Bridge, learning about the local history along the way. The heritage walk will explore themes linked to Michael Rakowitz’s exhibition in Baltic's Level 4 Gallery around the colonial history of the Quayside and surrounding area.

Baltic Crew are happy to answer questions throughout the tour, and there’ll be the opportunity to take photos along the way.

*There is no charge to attend this event, and we encourage donation tickets. If you're unable to attend the event, we are unable to refund your donation.

This tour is suitable for all ages and we’ll adapt content depending on our visitors. We’ll do our best to keep to time, but want to accommodate everyone. This Quayside Heritage Tour is wheelchair accessible and pushchair friendly. If you have any accessibility queries or require accessibility equipment or anything you think we should be aware of, you can let us know when you book your tickets or email us at

Baltic reminds participants that this tour is 45 minutes long (the distance is just under 1 mile), so sensible and appropriate footwear should be worn. Participants take personal responsibility for their safety and welfare throughout the tour.
