BALTIC Library

BALTIC’s Library is free to use, open to all and a great place to find out more about contemporary art & design and visual culture. Browse our collection of over 12,500 books or read a selection of magazines on contemporary art and design. There are also computers to access our online archive of over 600 videos and audio recordings on BALTIC exhibitions or view thousands of archive images and documents.

This relaxed drop-in area is open seven days a week during gallery opening hours, 10.00-17.45. The Library is reference only. You don’t need an appointment to use the Library but booking is advised if you would like to access our full range of archive material.

To book an appointment, contact BALTIC Producer (Documentation, Library & Archive), Sarah Bouttell, via email at sarahb@balticmill.com or call 0191 440 4959.

You can search and browse an online record of all books in BALTIC Library using BALTIC+ Online Archive.
