Launched in May 2019 and delivered in partnership with Birtley Hub Resource Centre, Art Lab is an ongoing holiday programme offering daily artist-led activities, weekly trips and lunch throughout the school holidays. The offer is developed with and for families living in Birtley and particularly families who usually access free school meals during term time.

ESOL at BALTIC offers practical advice, support and creative input to English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes in the North East who wish to visit BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.

In response to a growing demand locally for more informal language learning opportunities, BALTIC will soon be opening a regular Language Café, inviting people seeking sanctuary and the wider community to a free, safe and family friendly space for informal language learning as well as socialising and intercultural exchange.
International Art Club is an after-school club which brings together pupils from sanctuary-seeking backgrounds with the wider school population. International Art Club builds empathy and intercultural awareness, using art to safely and creatively explore ideas around culture and identity.
