Kathryn Elkin

8 November – 16 December 2018

Artist Kathryn Elkin (born 1983, Belfast) will present her new single-channel video work Queen completed during her time as Warwick Stafford Fellow at Northumbria University during 2017/18.

Elkin’s practice explores performance, writing and video and concerns role-play and improvisation, alongside experiments with the outtake. She has an ongoing interest in shared cultural memory, as produced by popular music, television and cinema, and the melding of this information with biographical memory.

This body of work was developed through support from Northumbria University’s Warwick Stafford Fellowship, BALTIC and Arts Council England.
