Pilgrim is a physical journey through the mystical sound scores created by electronic musician James Holden. This performance a reminder of the ancient and enduring kinship between Dance and Music and is haunted by remnants of English folk heritage.

Refusing to distinguish between humans and animals and machines, she proposed new ways of understanding our world that challenge normative structures and boundaries.
On Saturday 1 December artist Kathryn Elkin will present a seminar day that will include a screening event, curated in response to Elkin’s video new work Queen, presented by Lux Co-Director Maria Palacios Cruz. There will also be a presentation by Dr. Erika Balsom on authenticity, as well as a suite of performances from collaborators and peers Elkin met and began dialogue with during her fellowship.
On the Saturday 12 January 2019 BALTIC will host a Symposium to accompany the major exhibition Rasheed Araeen: A Retrospective. Leading scholars will explore Araeen’s unique contribution to art history and theory. The day will include a curator-led tour of the exhibition and an in-conversation with the artist.

BALTIC Self-Publishing Artists’ Market will return on Saturday 27 April, with over 50 artists, bookmakers, small press publishers, printmakers, artist’s groups and zine makers selling their work. Artist-led activities and performances will also accompany this special one-day event.
